Plain English Summary We'll collect, professionally iron, and return your clothes with care. You pay on delivery. If anything goes wrong, let us know within 24 hours and we'll do our best to put it right. These terms govern every booking you make with us.

01 About Us

The Perfect Press is a professional ironing and laundry collection service operated from Hampton, Peterborough. We provide home collection and delivery of ironing services to residential and business customers across Peterborough and surrounding areas.

02 Accepting These Terms

By making a booking with The Perfect Press — whether by phone, email, website form, or any other method — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our service.

These terms apply to all customers and all bookings. We reserve the right to refuse service to any customer at our discretion.

03 Our Services

We offer the following ironing and laundry services:

  • Signature Bag Service — up to 30 carefully pressed items per bag at £28 per bag
  • Express Premium Service — up to 30 items with 24-hour turnaround at £35 per bag
  • Individual Garments — priced per item (children's from £1.50, t-shirts £2.00, shirts/blouses £3.00, skirts from £3.00, trousers £3.50, dresses from £4.00)
  • Bedding & Linen — single set £15, double set £20, duvet cover £8, bed sheet from £5

All services include free home collection and delivery within our service area. A minimum order value of £28 applies to all bookings.

Prices are subject to change. The price confirmed at the time of your booking is the price you will pay.

04 Bookings & Cancellations

Making a Booking

Bookings can be made via our website booking form, by phone, or by email. A booking is confirmed once we have acknowledged it to you directly.

Please ensure you provide accurate contact details, address, and postcode when booking. We cannot be held responsible for failed collections or deliveries due to incorrect information provided.

Cancellations by You

  • You may cancel or reschedule your booking free of charge up to 24 hours before your agreed collection time
  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a £5 late cancellation fee to cover travel costs
  • If you are not available at the agreed collection time without prior notice, the same £5 fee may apply

Cancellations by Us

  • We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule bookings due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness or vehicle issues
  • We will give you as much notice as possible and offer an alternative time at no extra charge

05 Collection & Delivery

Collection

  • We offer morning (8am–12pm) and afternoon (12pm–6pm) collection slots, Monday to Saturday
  • Please ensure your items are ready in a bag at the agreed collection time
  • We will make reasonable efforts to arrive within your chosen time slot, but exact times cannot be guaranteed due to traffic and scheduling

Delivery

  • Standard service items are returned within 48 hours of collection
  • Express Premium items are returned within 24 hours of collection
  • Turnaround times are targets and may occasionally be affected by high demand or unforeseen circumstances — we will always notify you of any delays
  • Items will be returned on hangers where appropriate or neatly folded

Service Area

We currently serve Hampton beach and surrounding areas within the Peterborough region. If you are unsure whether we cover your area, please contact us before booking.

Important We accept no responsibility for items left unattended outside your property at your request. If you ask us to leave items without a signature, you do so at your own risk.

06 Pricing & Payment

  • All prices are as quoted at the time of booking
  • Payment is due on delivery of your completed items
  • We accept cash or bank transfer only — we do not accept credit or debit card payments at this time
  • A minimum order value of £28 applies to all bookings
  • For bank transfer payments, please use your name and postcode as the payment reference
  • If payment is not received on delivery without prior agreement, we reserve the right to withhold items until payment is made

We reserve the right to adjust our prices at any time. Price changes will not affect confirmed bookings.

07 Care of Your Garments

Our Commitment

We treat every garment with the utmost care and professionalism. Our staff are experienced in handling a wide range of fabrics and will always follow the care label instructions on your items.

Your Responsibility

  • Please ensure all items are suitable for ironing and that care labels are intact and legible
  • Remove any items from pockets before handing over your laundry bag — we are not responsible for damage to or caused by items left in pockets
  • Please inform us of any delicate items, embellishments, or special requirements at the time of booking
  • We reserve the right to return items unironed if we believe ironing would cause damage — you will not be charged for these items

Pre-existing Damage

We are not responsible for damage to items that were already damaged, stained, or faulty prior to collection. We recommend checking your items before handing them over.

Please Note Certain fabrics and embellishments (beading, sequins, prints, plastic elements) may not be suitable for ironing. If in doubt, please flag items to us at the time of collection and we will advise accordingly.

08 Liability & Claims

Reporting an Issue

If you believe an item has been damaged whilst in our care, you must notify us within 24 hours of delivery by phone or email. Claims reported after this period may not be accepted as we cannot verify the condition of items once they have left our possession.

Our Liability

  • Where we accept responsibility for damage to an item, our maximum liability is limited to 10 times the cost of the ironing charge for that item
  • We do not accept liability for damage caused by following care label instructions, or where no care label is present
  • We do not accept liability for items that were already damaged or faulty prior to collection
  • We do not accept liability for items damaged due to contents left in pockets
  • We do not accept liability for loss or damage to items during transit where the customer has requested unattended delivery

Lost Items

In the unlikely event an item cannot be located, we will make every reasonable effort to find it. If an item is confirmed lost whilst in our care, compensation will be assessed on a case-by-case basis up to the liability limit stated above.

09 Your Responsibilities

As a customer of The Perfect Press, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate booking and contact information
  • Ensure someone is available at the agreed collection and delivery times, or make alternative arrangements with us in advance
  • Inform us of any special care requirements for your items
  • Remove all items from pockets before handing over your laundry
  • Pay for the service on delivery as agreed
  • Treat our staff with courtesy and respect at all times

We reserve the right to refuse service or end a booking arrangement if a customer behaves in an abusive, threatening, or unreasonable manner towards our staff.

10 Complaints

We take all complaints seriously and aim to resolve any issues quickly and fairly.

  • We aim to acknowledge all complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 7 working days
  • If you are not satisfied with our response, you may seek independent advice from your local Citizens Advice Bureau

11 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Perfect Press shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from the use of our service, including but not limited to loss of earnings, loss of enjoyment, or reputational damage.

Our total liability to you in connection with any booking shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for that booking.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

12 Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13 Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on our website with a revised "Last updated" date.

Continued use of our service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We recommend reviewing these terms periodically.
